About the Event
With the arrival of Spring, our long Night Sea Journey seems to be coming to an end. What can the myths surrounding Persephone, Demeter, and Hecate reveal to us about our return from the underworld? Join me as we explore ancient Greek myths for clues about rebirth and planting the seeds of our dreams.
As the goddess of the grain and the harvest, Demeter was responsible for the growth and abundance of all the grain. In deep grief over her forced separation from her daughter, she was willing to let the world, and all life on it, waste away. What brought her back to the vitality of life and the balance of nature? What roles did other women play in her return?
There were very few gods or humans that could travel the roads to the underworld and return. Hecate, the ancient triple goddess of the crossroads, the way-shower, is one such goddess. One of the most ancient and powerful feminine archetypes, Hecate has wisdom to share with us about the journey to and the return from the underworld. Intuition, dreams, and imagination are the places of the deep feminine. How can we use them to make the right choices at our crossroads?
Now that we are emerging from the Dreamtime of winter, it's time to sort the seeds of our dreams. Which ones are ready to be planted and nurtured forward?
There will be a mini ritual seed planting exercise during this Village Gathering! We will be planting dream seeds to watch sprout and grow in our windows.
Supplies:
3 small clay pots, empty egg cartons, or containers, whatever you have.
Potting soil or dirt from your yard or wild place that you won't damage. You will need enough to fill your containers.
Keep the soil separate from the containers, don't fill them yet.
Three small strips of paper the size of fortune cookie fortunes.
Flower Seeds.

The 2021 Village is here! This year each monthly gathering will explore a different goddess from world mythology. Together we’ll discover how these ancient mythologies offer new perspectives on issues that concern Regent women today. As Regent Women—aged 45-70— we’re living in the most powerful stage of our lives. In these gatherings, the company of women, we support each other and offer insights into making the most of our Regent years.
What can we learn from the time we are living through? Where is our power, and how should we wield it? Join me to explore the ancient hopeful truths and power that live within the myths of the universal experience of being a woman.
Dr. A. is a cultural mythologist and women's coach. Join her in weekly inspirational conversations held online about the big picture of being a woman in these times.
In each conversation, as women have done for millennia, we will gather at the well (ours will be virtual) to support each other and to find wisdom, insight, and clarity in uncertain times.
Enter the circle and:
- Experience new ways of understanding what we are going through today, from the wisdom in ancient myths and stories.
- Explore the legacy of wisdom from the profound universal experiences of being women.Â
- Broaden and deepen our thinking about our outer and inner worlds.
- Create a deeper connection to ourselves and each other.Â
These weeks of social distancing and unrest can create more than stress and worry. We can emerge from this uncertain time with a story to tell about ourselves and our world. We can create a new vision for our lives, families, communities, and world.Â
The Women's Wisdom Village meets on Zoom once a month. Each gathering will last approximately 1 1/2 hours and welcomes up to 20 women. The Zoom meeting code will be delivered via email after your payment is received. The fee is $5.15 per meeting, the cost of my favorite cuppa'. Buy me a cuppa' joe and join me in the Women's Wisdom Village! Â
