What Your Three Weird Barbie mythologists (each in different decades of their lives) will cover in this workshop:

Kristina will explore myths that relate to Weird Barbie from Inanna, Persephone, and the Ugly Duckling to archetypal themes such as Initiation, Death and Rebirth, and Chaos and Order. She will also speak about being neurodivergent and how crucial it is to own your "neurodiverse weirdness" so that you can transform it into your superpower instead of it being the kryptonite

that keeps you playing small.

Nicola will examine Weird Barbie’s backstory of trauma and how, when understood symbolically, her wound becomes her gift and purpose. She will also look at the parallels to your wound and how that can become your greatest gift. She will probe the archetypal patterns of the Outsider as Messenger and why these roles are crucial for creating a paradigm shift in the collective. Nicola will lead you through somatic exercises and breathing patterns to bring you out of trauma response and back into your place of power.

Andrea will dive into Barbie’s awakening and choice of a “real life” as the metaphor for the emergence of a new life stage for women, Regency. Regency gives women the opportunity to embrace our “weirdness” as an expression of our authentic selves and, as a result, recognize our collective potential to change the world. We will also explore the ideas within the film of generational fluidity, aging, the nature of wisdom, and Barbie’s recognition of aging as beautiful. Finally, we will explore the mythological motif of the “Journey” within a real human life, revealed to Barbie by Ruth, and her ultimate choice to embrace mortality in order to truly live.

About the Three Mythologists

Kristina Dryža She/Her

Kristina has always felt that she lived in two worlds: the imaginal and material realms, the underworld and upper world, the linear and non-linear. Based between Australia and Lithuania, her work focuses less on the future and more on the unknown. Presence. Not prediction. What’s sacred? Not only ‘what’s next?’ Being neurodivergent, Kristina is a natural systems thinker, which offers her a wider spectrum of insights. She’s passionate about helping people to perceive mythically and sense archetypally to better understand our shared humanity, yet honor the diverse ways we all live and make meaning.

Nicola Tannion, Ph.D. She/Her

Nicola (Nicky) Tannion, Ph.D., is a medicine woman, teacher, and writer who works both in this earthly realm and the Otherworld. She is sought after as an energy worker and spiritual guide for her accurate insight and grounded approach, use of ritual, and somatic practices. Nicola stokes the soul’s fire by encouraging each person to embrace their inner sage and to create a legacy of healing and transformation for the earth and future generations. Nicky is a proud member of the LGBTQIA community.

Andrea M. Slominski, Ph.D. She/Her

Andrea M. Slominski, Ph.D., AKA “Dr. A.” is a women’s midlife coach, speaker, and author. Her therapeutic coaching addresses midlife's physical, psychological, and spiritual changes. In her research, she explored the new life stage that emerged for women over the past 120 years. Andrea names this new life stage from ages 45-70+ “Regency” and identifies it as Women’s New Power Years. Her coaching is rooted in the principles of depth and archetypal psychology. She inspires her clients to reclaim and live their most authentic and fulfilled lives,

NOW—in service of the greater good.
