About the Event
Celebrating the Solstice: The turning of the Wheel of life & the return of the light.
The winter solstice, the darkest night of the year, is December 21st. Since humankind could track the sun and the stars, this night’s rituals and celebrations have offered hope for the survival of hardship, darkness, and fear. Still, 5000-10,000 years later, we have much to contemplate and honor at the solstice this year.
Join me in the Women’s Wisdom Village on Sunday afternoon, December 20th, to celebrate the turning of the cosmic year.
We’ll explore Stonehenge, New Grange, and other megalithic sites, linking our hope for the new year to those of the generations of women who celebrated before us. Together we’ll honor our needs, hopes, and desires for the new year.
